The two main free Space Bunny routes are OpenRouter and OpenCode. OpenRouter is the right choice if you want to call Space Bunny from your own code. OpenCode is the right choice if you want a ready-made coding agent in the terminal. Kilo Code and Cline users can also try Space Bunny free without leaving their editor.

Use Space Bunny Free on OpenRouter

  1. Create a free account at openrouter.ai. You can sign in with Google or GitHub.
  2. Open Keys and create an API key. Copy it somewhere safe.
  3. In the chat playground, search for Space Bunny Alpha to test it in the browser, or call the API with the model ID stealth/space-bunny-alpha.
  4. Check the privacy settings. Stealth models require you to allow providers that may retain prompts. If your account blocks that, the free Space Bunny route will return an error.

Free limits: OpenRouter caps free models at roughly 20 requests per minute plus a daily request limit. Accounts that have bought at least a small amount of credit get a much higher daily limit, which is worth it if you plan to run Space Bunny inside an agent that makes many calls.

  1. Install OpenCode with npm i -g opencode-ai or the install script from opencode.ai.
  2. Run opencode inside a project folder and sign in to OpenCode Zen when prompted.
  3. Type /models and choose Space Bunny Free.
  4. Start giving it tasks. There is no charge for free Space Bunny usage on Zen during the preview.

Get the Most From Your Free Week

A free stealth model is a short opportunity. Here is how to spend it well:

  • Test your real workload. Benchmarks tell you little about your codebase. Run Space Bunny free on the tasks you actually do and compare it with your current model.
  • Try the long context. Free 1M-token windows are rare. Feed Space Bunny a whole repo or a long PDF and see how well it recalls details.
  • Try video input. Very few free models accept video. Screen recordings of bugs are a good test.
  • Pick effort deliberately. Use low for quick edits and high or max for hard problems. Max effort on simple prompts just burns time.
  • Keep secrets out. Free does not mean private. The provider may retain prompts, so use throwaway repos and no credentials.

An anonymous, free listing brings in millions of real requests from developers who would never sign up for an unknown model at full price. The lab watches where Space Bunny succeeds and fails, fixes problems, and only then attaches its name.

The numbers show how well that works. The previous stealth model, Ox Alpha, handled around 24 trillion tokens across 8 million sessions before its reveal. Space Bunny reached third place in OpenRouter's weekly volume ranking within days, so its maker is getting a very large test for the cost of the compute.

What happens next: In 2026 every free OpenRouter stealth model became a named, paid model. Union Alpha became Pareto at $2.50 in and $7.50 out per million tokens. If Space Bunny is MiniMax, expect a far lower price, since MiniMax M3 already lists around $0.60 in and $2.40 out per million. The free Space Bunny window is the cheapest it will ever be.
